Favorite Things: October

The light. Gold must have been invented to try to create something that looked like the light in autumn.

The calls and the scraggly V in the sky of Canada geese flying south. (In passing, though, if they summer here, and they winter down south, wherefore “Canada”?)

The smell of dry leaves.

Fresh local apple cider.

The aqua of the sky against the lemon and russet and bright orange of the trees. (It would never work in fashion.)
