What’s In Your Closet?

In 1930, the average American woman owned nine outfits. Today, thanks primarily to the lower prices of garments made abroad in low-wage nations, she purchases more than 60 pieces of new clothing per year.

I found that stat in The Week, quoting my favorite Etsy.

Do you think we really look five times more fashionable now than people did then? My closet has lots more than nine outfits in it, but I couldn’t claim that.
