Interesting Times: Update 20

Last update (3 1/2 weeks ago) I was, if I’m honest, not okay. Physically, financially, emotionally, I was kind of done.

However. Last week’s CT scan of my jaw showed NO bone metastasis, nothing up in my thyroid bed, and one 6 mm lymph node up by my right tonsil. So I am a lot more more okay than I was.

Life is kind of weird, isn’t it? I mean, if back in 2012 you told me that I’d get a report like that and be so happy I’d cry all day… I wouldn’t have understood. (Or liked you very much.)

It’s not an all clear, but it’s good.

The words “osseous structures are unremarkable” were good – the best I’ve heard in a while. I was very, very scared about my jaw, and it was good – very, very good – to hear that.

So now the radioactive iodine treatment has to kill off that lymph node over the next few months.

And how am I?

Next tests are in November, so I work hard and take care till then. And that’s is the most any of us can ever really say, right?

Good.
